“We would like to express our greatest gratitude to CoreJJ, who helped the team win Worlds 2017, and advance to Worlds 2018 with top support plays, Haru, who helped accomplish the past achievements like CoreJJ did as a jungler, and Mong as a great teammate,” Gen.G wrote it the Twitter announcement. “We thank the players for giving us a great season and hope the best for the players’ future.”
CoreJJ, Haru and Mong’s departure is the continuation of the series of roster changes that Gen.G has been making to the team. Earlier in the month, Gen.G discussed their desire to change their playstyle and team color through roster changes.

With the departure of five players from its roster, Gen.G Esports will likely be recruiting players for the coming Season 2019. Gen.G now has empty spots for both its support and jungle position, and the organization may also be looking to recruit sub players for other positions.
