Damwon Gaming announced on the 23rd of November KST that they have parted ways with their coach Kim “Kim” Jeong-soo.

In their announcement, Damwon Gaming explained that their contract with their former coach had ended, meaning Kim is currently a free agent.

Kim is well known for his involvement with several successful teams, including Samsung Galaxy, Longzhu Gaming, and Invictus Gaming. Having led Invictus Gaming to their crowning as World Champions in 2018, Kim left soon after, joining instead the recently promoted Damwon Gaming.

With Damwon Gaming, Kim was able to focus and nurture the strong solo lane talents the team possessed, with Nuguri and ShowMaker taking over the LCK as one of the best in their respective roles. With Kim as their coach, DWG was able to make it to Worlds in their very first LCK season, an impressive feat.
