On 18th of August, SK Telecom T1 became the 4th team to qualify for the 2019 summer split playoffs. After one of the most competitive splits in the history of the LCK, SKT will once again qualify for the playoffs and play for their chance in the 2019 World Championships.
2019 summer split was a rollercoaster for SKT, to say the least. After an unsatisfactory result at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational, finishing at the semi-finals, SKT had a rough start to the summer split by suffering a 5-match losing streak. Then, SKT made a miracle run, continuing on a 9-match winning streak and rising all the way to the top of the LCK standings. However, SKT recently lost to Hanwha Life Esports then DAMWON Gaming, plunging in the standings once again and a question mark held over their playoffs chances.
