At 25th of November KST, Griffin notified that it has parted ways with Son “Lehends” Si-woo, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon and Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon.
Griffin, in the announcement via their official Twitter account, said “We are here to convey a piece of upsetting news. Our contract with Lehends, Doran and Chovy was ended after mutual consent. Sincerely thank you for bringing precious memories and spectacular games to Griffin and Ourfin. Best wishes. Thank you.”
Earlier the same day, Still8, the parent company of Griffin announced that the company recognizes the existing controversies around the organization’s contracts with some of the players. Still8 promised changes to the existing situation in the announcement, stating, “In the last few days, we have drafted a new contract that deletes unfair clauses from the previous contracts. We will also respect the wishes of the player if a player asks to become a free agent over renewing this new contract and release them as a free agent.”
It is unknown whether the other remaining players in Griffin, Choi “Sword” Sung-won, Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, Jeong “Kabbie” Sang-hyeon and Park “Viper” Do-hyeon have renewed their contracts with Griffin or are also becoming free agents.
